Physical, occupational and speech therapy are offered at Mount Olivet Home and Mount Olivet Careview Home through Augustana Therapy Services. A full range of therapy is provided five days a week, with Saturday therapy available if medically necessary. To receive therapy services, a physician’s order is required. Medicare and most insurance companies cover skilled rehabilitation services.
Residents and their families are encouraged to be actively involved in setting and working toward goals that will ultimately improve the resident’s dignity and quality of life.
Occupational Therapy The goal of occupational therapy is to restore and enhance an resident’s ability to perform tasks essential to activities of daily living. Our staff works with residents through a variety of therapeutic activities and equipment to help them regain mobility and strength. Staff provides guidance to families and facility staff to assist residents with assigned therapeutic activities.
Physical Therapy The goal of physical therapy is to restore an resident’s physical functional ability and mobility. Physical therapy can also help residents manage pain and other physical limitations. Our staff customizes therapeutic exercises to help residents achieve their therapeutic goals. Staff provides guidance to families and facility staff to effectively assist residents and help them remain an integral part of family activities.
Speech Therapy The goal of speech therapy is to restore and/or maintain communication skills so residents can communicate their needs and wishes with staff, families and friends. Additionally, our staff can assist residents with cognitive and memory impairments and swallowing problems. When necessary, staff can train residents to use alternative communication systems such as sign language, communication boards or electronic devices. Staff provides guidance to families and facility staff to effectively assist residents with communication.
