For over a decade, the Mount Olivet Day Services child day care program, licensed by the Department of Human Services, has served hundreds of children, 6 weeks to 5 years old, in a unique intergenerational setting. Located on two campuses one-half block apart in Minneapolis, the program is open 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full- and part-time openings are available. Infants up to 16 months must be full-time. Lunch and afternoon snacks are provided. Breakfast is $1.25 per child. Every day, children have opportunities to interact and have fun with participants of the Mount Olivet Day Services adult program and residents living at Mount Olivet Home and Mount Olivet Careview Home.
Low teacher-child ratios are maintained to establish a secure and trusting relationship between each child and his or her family and staff. Each classroom offers a daily schedule that is developmentally appropriate to the ages of the children. Days are filled with teacher-directed and child-initiated activities like art projects, play time, entertainment, educational activities, including Spanish lessons for an additional fee, and field trips. A special music program called Growing With Music is offered weekly.
We are active in the accreditation process with the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
